Halo Environmental holds several certifications, demonstrating our expertise in following environmental regulations, quality assurance and other critical standards.

Spray Foam Insulation

Elastochem Insulthane® Extreme is our closed cell spray foam that provides energy efficiency and lasting durability for modern structures. This product is ISO 9001:2015 certified for quality management and UL GREENGUARD Gold certified for low total volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions.

Some specs of our spray foam insulation include:

  • Flame Spread tested with CAN/ULC-S102 Steiner Tunnel for Flame 5, Smoke 130
  • Flame Spread tested per ASTM E84 Class 1 specs, resulting in <25
  • Compressive strength tested per ASTM D1621 specs for 26.4 Psi

Coatings – Elastochem Specialty Chemicals Inc. Approved Polyurea Installer HL-550

These courses are conducted by Elastochem — a leader in specialty coatings manufacturing.

Our HL-550 Polyurethane is a high-performance coating with resistance to:

  • Thermal damage
  • Chemicals
  • Corrosion
  • Abrasion
  • Oils
  • Fuel

This coating exceeds the AER D55 Storage Requirements for the Upstream Petroleum Industry set forth by the Alberta Energy Regulator. It has also been certified fire-resistant for surface burning, according to ULC-668.

Some technical specs of HL-550 coating include:

  • Unlimited film thickness
  • 176.6 degrees Celsius maximum temperature
  • Wet to dry film shrinkage of under 1%

ISO 21809-3 Pipeline Coatings

Halo is certified to ISO 21809-3 for external coatings for buried or submerged pipelines for the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries. We work with many companies in the oil and gas industry, and this expertise allows us to meet the unique specifications required for the field joint coating of welded and seamless steel pipes in these systems.

CSA Z245.30-18 External Coatings for Steel Pipeline Systems

Halo Environmental is certified according to CSA Z245.30, a certification for field-applied external coatings for steel pipeline systems. This certification applies to the following systems:

  • FC1/FC3 - Denso Protal 7200 Spray Cartridge Version #1.0 (01 Jan 2018)
  • FC7 - Denso LT Tape System Version #1.0 (06 May 2015)
  • FC1/FC3 - Denso Protal 7200 Brush Grade Version #1.0 (01 July 2015)
  • FC1/FC3 - Denso Protal 7200 Repair Cartridge Version #1.0 (01 Jan 2018)

Specialty Polymer Coatings Applicator Certification

Halo Environmental is approved to apply Specialty Polymer Coatings (SPC) Brush Grade coating. Our technicians are trained to apply SP-2888® RG spray, an epoxy-polyurethane hybrid coating that combines the toughness of polyurethane with epoxy’s adhesion and corrosion resistance. The epoxy chemistry of these coatings allows for high-temperature operating capabilities and chemical resistance.

The technical specs of SP-2888 RG spray include:

  • Resistance to cathodic disbonding up to 85 degrees Celsius.
  • High build single coat application of over 50 mils.
  • Abrasion, chemical, impact and water-absorption resistant.
